New Demo Upload


Hello everyone, and Happy New Year ๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡ I've got a few things I'd like to cover and set the flavor for this year to come, so let's jump right in.

New Demo Release

What better way to begin 2025 than with a new upload—and that's exactly what I've done! In this demo, you will get to see the current state of some of my core systems, such as parkour, day/night cycles, weather, vehicles and enhanced movement.

While this demo showcases a significant leap in visual and mechanical fidelity, I'd like to be upfront—the performance will be poor without a high end PC. I deeply appreciate your patience as I work to make this game's performance levels more accessible. This brings me to some exciting new changes...

Transitioning to a New Engine

This will very likely be the last build made using UPBGE (and BGE in general). While it is a little bittersweet to me, as I've been using the engine for over 8 years now, the limitations—such as GPL licensing issues, and EEVEE's performance constraints—have caused me to begin the switchover to more modern and powerful engines such as Unreal or Unity. These engines are much better suited to creating the kind of game I'm designing and that is exciting! This way, I can focus on creating a richer game experience for you, without spending so much time reinventing the wheel, and trying to bring modern features to an outdated engine. I may continue to enhance my UPBGE codebase in the background, but primarily as a hobby.
